Doctor Who 50th Celebration.

Waffle On about Doctor Who and the 50th Celebration

Hello and welcome to this mini episode of Waffle On chatting away about Doctor Who and the big old 50th celebration. Yes way back in 1963 Britain suddenly had a new tv show, it had an old man, a young girl, two teachers and all of them stuck in a blue box. Nowadays the BBC would be in court for that headline but back then it was the start of a new science fiction tv series and on this episode we give it a good thumbs up (easy there). 

Meds and kell talk over Skype and discuss the wonderful Adventure in Space and Time, The two mini episodes shown online, the big episode Day of the Doctor and of course the utterly brilliant Peter Davison creation The Five(ish) Doctors reboot. 

We'll have another episode coming this month celebrating Christmas with our views on National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Nice.

This month we chat away about the wonderful and much missed writer Nigel Kneale who is most well known for creating Quatermass. He was a pioneer of British science fiction and often over shadowed by the likes of Doctor Who and Twilight Zone. Kneale was a visionary and brought us some of the most dark and forward thinking science fiction ever created. We also talk about Ripper Street, Derek, The Hobbit and why Die Hard 5 Die Boring is a real let down. Star Trek The Next Generation.

Waffle On About Star Trek The Next Generation. Star Trek The Next Generation is as weall  know an American television programme so why are we waffling on about it. Well Its simple. Once a year Waffle On is going to do a show about a prominent American programme that had a big effect on both Meds and Kell. This year its time for TNG. Star Trek TNG hit our screens in the mid 1980's and impressionable young lads that we were (and geeks at heart) we both jumped into the magical world of this brilliant programme. Plus we both quite fancied Tasha Yar and Deanna Troi. The first few series of TNG were a bit crap, and we say that in our own friendly banter way but the other four series were brilliant. This episode is a little bit longer than normal but it is packed with listener mp3's from Rico, Al, Rick, Kenny, Harry, Jen, Angela, Sue, Sarah and a brilliant email from Katrin so we hope you enjoy it.
