WAFFLE ON COMPETITION 2016

Yes its that time of year when Meds and Kell bugger off for a month, so instead of just leaving a gap we thought we would throw in a special competition.

You will hear 17 theme tunes, a couple of film ones and the rest are tv shows. You don't have to get them all but whoever gets the most will win. So rules are..... sybmit your answers before September 30th, so we are giving you three months to have a go, we think thats fair just in case people are coming into the show for the first time or doing a catch up. If you want to join in and listen when watching the film throw your DVD in and pause it just as the words 'A Long Time Ago in a galaxy far Far Away....' pop up and we then count down to play. If you end up listening without the film then that will equally be ok as you can hear it in the background.

Ahoy and welcome to the good ship Waffle On. This month we chat away about the wonderful and much missed writer Nigel Kneale who is most well known for creating Quatermass. He was a pioneer of British science fiction and often over shadowed by the likes of Doctor Who and Twilight Zone. Kneale was a visionary and brought us some of the most dark and forward thinking science fiction ever created.

We also talk about Ripper Street, Derek, The Hobbit and why Die Hard 5 Die Boring is a real let down.

Waffle On About Bad Taste

On this episode Meds & Kell talk in a excited manner about Peter Jacksons first commercial film Bad Taste. Made over four years mainly during the weekends this is a fantastic example of Peter Jacksons love for film and getting the job done. Yes its quirky, cheap and seriosuly over the top but the Waffle On Lads love it.

At the end of the show there is a Batman Rises review which does contain some spoilers so stop the podcast after the Bad Taste credits theme after the promos.

Hello and welcome to this very special bonus Halloween episode of Waffle On Podcast in which Meds joins forces with our 'Sister Show' The brilliant Anomaly Podcast.

Jen and Angela fight of the zombies and help Meds waffle on about this brilliant British film which stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Also as a special treat there is a comedy sketch at the beginning to get the ball rolling. One word of warning for those who listen with kids this is a podcast about zombies and eating brains, and in this version there are clips that do contain a lot of swearing so please BE WARNED. Waffle On About Monty Pythons Life of Brian.

Welcome to this months edition of Waffle On Podcast in which Meds and Kell discuss the brilliant Monty Python film Life of Brian. Often touted as the best comedy film ever made (we agree) it also has caused (unfairly) some controversy. Written and starring John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Eric Idle this film tells the story of Brian a Jewish (or is he a Roman) man caught up being mistaken for the Messiah and no matter how many time he tries to convince people he is just a average bloke no one believes hm including Pilate the Roman leader.

We play clips from the film and of course the main title theme and the brilliant end credits ong Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.

Waffle On About The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Hello and welcome to this little special edition of Waffle On Podcast.  Not so long ago Meds stood in for Rico Dostie on Treks in Sci Fi and  covered the brilliant 1977 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Now we couldnt let this little gem go so here it is for you excellent listeners.

Based on the stage play written by Richard O'brien this film created a huge cult following around the world. It is still played at cinemas today but with the added bonus of audience participation. The podcast is packed with clips and some of the musical numbers featured in the film.

Waffle On About Star Trek The Next Generation.

Star Trek The Next Generation is as weall  know an American television programme so why are we waffling on about it. Well Its simple. Once a year Waffle On is going to do a show about a prominent American programme that had a big effect on both Meds and Kell. This year its time for TNG.

Star Trek TNG hit our screens in the mid 1980's and impressionable young lads that we were (and geeks at heart) we both jumped into the magical world of this brilliant programme. Plus we both quite fancied Tasha Yar and Deanna Troi. The first few series of TNG were a bit crap, and we say that in our own friendly banter way but the other four series were brilliant. This episode is a little bit longer than normal but it is packed with listener mp3's from Rico, Al, Rick, Kenny, Harry, Jen, Angela, Sue, Sarah and a brilliant email from Katrin so we hope you enjoy it.
